This free tour of Granada departs from Plaza Bib-Rambla and over approximately 2 hours progresses through the historic centre and lower Albaicín, without entering monuments and with a route designed to see the city from its squares, streets and main façades.

During the route you'll pass the surroundings of the Cathedral, the Alcaicería, the Capilla Real, the Madraza and various points in the lower Albaicín before finishing at Plaza de Santa Ana. The guide will explain the history of each place from outside, with clear explanations and without extending the visit longer than necessary.

The walk begins at Plaza Bib-Rambla, beside the Fuente de los Gigantes (Fountain of the Giants). From this point, the guide situates the route and sets the thread of the visit before entering the streets of the historic centre.

The first part passes through Plaza de las Pasiegas, with the Cathedral of Granada viewed from outside. There, details are explained such as where it was built and the reason why it was left with only one tower. Very nearby appears the Iglesia del Sagrario, linked to the site of the old main mosque of the city and to the chapel of perpetual prayer.

Afterwards, the route enters the Alcaicería, the old souk connected since the 14th century to the silk trade. There's also discussion of the fire it suffered in the 19th century, a key episode for explaining why this area doesn't preserve its complete original layout today.

The route continues past the exterior of the Capilla Real, where the guide talks about the Catholic Monarchs, their burial and Granada's role after the conquest. A few steps away is the Madraza, the old Islamic school, recognisable by its trompe-l'œil façade and the oratory preserved inside.
