GUIDED VISIT TO THE MEZQUITA AND CÓRDOBA'S JEWISH QUARTER

Mezquita principal
This guided visit to the Mezquita and Córdoba's Jewish Quarter combines in a single itinerary the interior of the Mezquita-Catedral, the Patio de los Naranjos, the streets of the Jewish Quarter and entry to the Synagogue. In 3 hours you follow a route that connects two key areas of the historic centre and helps you understand how the city changed through the Islamic period, the presence of the Jewish community and the subsequent Christian transformation.
The first part focuses on the Mezquita-Catedral, with explanation of the monument from its construction phases through to its conversion into a cathedral following the conquest by Ferdinand III. Afterwards, the visit continues on foot through the Jewish Quarter to the Synagogue and the Plaza de Maimónides, with references to the life of the mediaeval Jewish community, the 14th-century pogroms and the Mudéjar style preserved in the temple.
