The Albaicín and Sacromonte contain an essential part of historic Granada outside the monumental centre. On this guided visit you walk through cobbled streets, medieval cisterns, Mudéjar churches, viewpoints and areas of cave houses with direct views towards the Alhambra.

The route begins in Plaza de Santa Ana and continues along the Carrera del Darro before climbing up to the Albaicín, a neighbourhood declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. During the route you'll see places such as the Bañuelo, the Convento de Zafra, the Iglesia de San Juan de los Reyes, the Aljibe del Trillo and the Mirador de San Nicolás.

The visit then continues towards Sacromonte, the old Valparaíso hill. In this part of the route you'll learn about the caves excavated in the rock, the life of the neighbourhood and the origin of zambra flamenca, linked to the tablaos and Granada's Gypsy tradition.

The visit lasts approximately 2 hours, is conducted with an official guide in Spanish or English and ends at the Paseo de los Tristes, beneath the slopes of the Alhambra.
